THE school of a four-year-old boy who drowned in a family swimming pool in Tenerife have paid tribute to him.

Presley Stockton, from Hindley, was staying with his extended family at the four-star Hotel Paradise Park Fun Lifestyle in Los Cristianos.

A spokesman for the hotel said the boy was in its busy family pool when he was spotted by a lifeguard who pulled him out at around 3.30pm on Wednesday.

Presley attended St Peter's CE Primary School in Hindley.

Head teacher Nicola Green said said: "As a school we are deeply upset at Presley's tragic death and our heartfelt condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this time.

"We are offering full support to his friends and the school community as a whole.

"Presley had only been with us a short time but was already a part of St.Peter's family.

"He will always be part of our school community and remembered by us all for his bubbly personality."

Local police have been investigating the incident, with statements being taken from witnesses and CCTV cameras checked.
