PEGASUS Explorer Scouts from Tyldesley and Astley have been reunited with their friends from Scandinavia in an activity camp.

They hosted Danish Scouts from Jordrup Gruppe at the Cheshire Chamboree, in Tabley, where they camped, cooked and took part in a range of activities with live bands and DJs playing at the event.

There were around 4,500 guides and scouts from the UK and more than 20 countries at the camp.

The two groups previously teamed up together at the Denmark national jamboree last year.

The Tyldesley and Astley group have now made friends with a German group and are hoping to visit them next year.

Members have taken part in four trips across Lancashire and the Lake District to work towards getting their Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Awards at silver and bronze levels in tough conditions.

They are set to go on more adventures during the winter to finish the rest of their tasks to collect their DofE Awards as well as their Chief Scout's Awards.

The group is open to young people aged between 14 and 18 with members having access to carrying out activities such as canoeing, camping, climbing, hiking, shooting, sailing and raising funds for good causes
