WHILE new Leigh RMI manager Steve Bleasdale is committed to give the current squad a chance to feature in his plans, two strikers have left Hilton Park in deals that were struck before his appointment.

Dan Owen left the club to further his career in London and his co-striker, Kevin Rapley, agreed to join Barrow for a fee.

Faced with a striker shortage Bleasdale moved quickly to bring in two and promote an outstanding prospect from the reserves.

England U18 star Richard Chetcutti was given his chance against Vauxhall when he replaced Rapley and scored within a minute. Chetcutti is a quick and skilful striker who has progressed from the youth team and is now destined to make a big impact at the club.

Bleasdale has also recruited two strikers; Mark Smyth from Bangor City and Sean O'Neil from Bamber Bridge.

Smyth is an ex-Liverpool player who has experience with Accrington Stanley. He can play either wide left or as an outright striker and has a good scoring record in the Welsh league.

O'Neil is an outright striker who regularly finds the net. He has played for the Army and the Irish Premier league.

Sean Ferguson is the fourth new name at the club and is a young midfielder from Tranmere Rovers.
