IT'S over 60 years since the launch of the 'noddy' bike - the LE Velocette, which was a familiar sight throughout the 1950s and early 60s as motorised transport for policemen.
The super quiet LE (the initials stood for 'little engine', which at 192cc the twin cylinder bike was compared to Veloce's legendary 350cc and 500cc singles) will be star of the show on Sunday at Astley.
The LE Velo Club is holding its annual show from 11am until 4pm at the Red Rose Steam Museum on the Astley Green Colliery site off Higher Green Lane.
Up to 100 bikes are expected at the show with moderns and classics of all shapes and sizes.
