POLICE have found the body of a missing 29-years-old Leigh man in a river.

It was identified as John Boardman who was last seen at 11.30am on Monday, February 15, by staff at Wigan’s Royal Albert Edward Infirmary.

Police were called last Wednesday after a body was spotted in the water under a bridge in Coppull Lane, Wigan.

Mr Boardman gone to hospital on February 14 complaining of stomach pains but discharged himself.

It is believed there are no suspicious circumstances pending a post-mortem examination.
