Parkside Choir in tune with singers

A FREE, one day workshop for people who would like to sing in harmony has been organised by Parkside Male Voice Choir.

Alex Wallace, Parkside MVC's Director of Music, said: "Expert tuition will be given by Neil Firth, Musical Director of the Adult Choir of the Year winners in 2008. He will cover the art and skills of singing, giving advice on voice range, singing in tune, stance and posture for relaxed singing, dynamics, matching pitch and vowel sounds.

"The climax of the day will be everyone singing in four part harmony. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone wishing to improve his vocal technique and it's absolutely free!"

The workshop will be held at the YMCA buildings, Hilton Street, Ashton-in-Makerfield, on Saturday, February 18. Registration is at 9.30am and the course runs from 10am-4pm.
