THE hunt is on for two young women who kicked another woman to the floor in a violent street attack in Golborne.
At about 6.05pm on Saturday the 20-year-old victim was walking home from work along Lowton Road when she was kicked to the floor from behind.
Two women then launched into an attack on her, trying to tob her handbag while punching and kicking her.
The victim managed to fend off the attackers and protect her bag, but a bottle of vodka she had in a carrier bag slipped out and the pair ran off with it, towards Golborne High School.
The woman was left bruised and badly shaken.
Both offenders are white women in their mid 20s, about 5ft 6in tall, with dark hair pulled back and slimly built. One was wearing thick, dark make-up, a red Puma tracksuit, Ugg-style boots and gold hooped earrings.
Her accomplice was also heavily made-up and had a large, prominent nose. She had several piercings in her ear and was wearing a purple jumper, jeans and Ugg-style boots.
PC Lynsey Watson said: "The victim has been left badly shaken by this incident.
"Clearly the offender are reckless and are willing to use violence to steal. They need to be caught as soon as possible.
"As Lowton Road is a busy road we are appealing for any witnesses who saw the attack to call us."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 5308 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
