CROWN green bowler Michelle Glover made history when she became the first girl to win the Lancashire County Junior Merit Championship.
The 16 year-old former St Mary's RC High Pupil has developed into a skilful player since she started bowling five years ago with Leigh Cricket Club's junior bowling team.
When she reached the qualifying age of 16 she became old enough to play in the Leigh Ladies League and took the County junior title in the first year that females have been allowed to enter.

Michelle will now represent Lancashire in the national championships and, now that girls may play in representative matches, should be joining her Leigh CC colleagues Tommy Davies, Nichael Walmsley, Johnathan Gregory aand Craig Gornall in the county side.
Any junior readers who are interested in bowling are invited to ring Stan Walmsley on 01942 681834 for further information.
