THE leader of Leigh’s legendary group The Beat Boys, Ronnie Carr, is appealing for more pictorial memories of Leigh Casino.
He particularly wants early photographs of the inside of the building looking towards the stage or balcony to round off the one hour musical documentary he has made to document the history of the much loved night club.
“The Leigh Casino Story”, edited by former Leigh man and now Norway-based film editor Chris Miller, is expected to be released on DVD in August and all proceeds will go to Wigan and Leigh Hospice.
A taster of the DVD can be seen on The Beat Boys web site at www.myspace.com/beatboys65 and any loaned pictures can be dropped in at the Journal office marked for Ronnie’s attention.
It should be in great demand - according to the response so far.
