I DON’T know what the postmen are up to, but there’s a lot of carelessness and mix-ups going on.

Either that or the Post Office is employing very short sighted or irresponsible deliverers.

I got home on Tuesday to find that my neighbour on the right had opened one item of my post and written a note of apology on it. Thank goodness it was only a piece of junk mail - from Nissan trying to sell me a new car.

Meanwhile among my letters were two obviously important financial documents of some kind for my neighbour on the other side, which I had to deliver.

It seems funny that only an hour later my annoyed mother rang from her Leigh home to say that two vital items of her post, connected with my dad’s recent death, had just been delivered to – and by - her neighbour from next door but one.

This slapdash attitude to delivery never used to happen, why has it suddenly started now?
