St Phillip’s pupils are toast of the area after victory

ST Phillip’s have been crowned area hockey champions.
They defeated Chowbent 2-0 in the years 3 and 4 hocky festiival organised by the newly branded Atherton and Tyldesley Sports Association on the site of the former Hesketh Fletcher school.
Seven schools were involved, with St George’s Central winning 5-2 against Parklee in the third-place play-off.
Meadowbank, St Michael’s and Atherton St George’s also competed, with the schools playing group matches to determine the finalists. Next up are the ATSA mixed football leagues, which will start for the Atherton section today, Thursday, and for the Tyldesley section on Monday.
