East took charge in the second half

Leigh East u18 32 Pilkington Recs u18 4
EAST produced a fine performance in an efficient victory over a determined Pilkington Recs team.
East were firmly in control from the start but Pilks’ defence stood firm until midway through the first half when Josh Adu-Dwaama scored, Andy Ball converting.
A further try from man-of-the-match Connor Johnson put East 10-0 ahead.
Pilks hit back against the run of play on the stroke of half time after some good opportunistic play to make the half-time score 10-4 to East.
East continued their superiority in the second half with further tries from Danny Grainey, Nathan Gaskell, Glenn Clarence and Billy Allred, with three more conversions from Ball making the score 32-4.
Pilks rarely threatened and their only attack of note came late on when a superb cover tackle from Alex Holcroft kept them out.
This weekend should see a true test of the team's ability with a home tie against early league leaders Shevington Sharks, who impressively beat Ince Rose Bridge 44-4 in their first game.
