World champion returns to action

TYLDESLEY cycle speedway star Laura Watson kicks off her racing season this weekend in Ipswich, competing in the women’s individual event for the Dave Andrews Memorial.

Watson, aged 18, who is the current women’s world champion and rides for Leicester Monarchs, has been training hard throughout the winter together with her brother, Adam aged 13, under the guidance of Bury cycle speedway coach and mentor John Burston.
