Cycle speedway club start the new season

ASTLEY and Tyldesley Cycle Speedway Club open their 2013 season on Sunday.

A&T will take on Bury in three Northern League matches at Gin Pit, with tapes up at 2 pm.

First match up will be the Division 1 match, featuring the clubs' first teams. This will be followed at approximately 3.30 pm by the Division 2 match for the clubs' 2nd teams. The final match of the day will be the Division 3 match, featuring the clubs' U-12 riders.

Racing promises to be fast and furious, as the riders will hurtle round the tight shale surfaced Gin Pit oval.

The cycle speedway track is located at the Astley & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare Club, Meanley Road, Gin Pit, Tyldesley, M29 7DW.

Spectators are welcome with free admission to the racing.
