Young Gunners set for Rovers clash at LSV

ARSENAL’S highly-rated young footballers arrive at Leigh Sports Village tomorrow, Friday, as Blackburn Rovers kick off their Barclays under 21 Premier League season at the stadium.
Arsenal have one of the most prestigious youth set-ups in world football, with goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, England midfielder Jack Wilshere and left back Kieran Gibbs all graduating through the London club’s system.
The current crop boast German Thomas Eisfeld, signed from Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund in January 2012 – and the young midfielder scored two delightful goals against Stoke under 21s last week.
Powerful forward Chuba Akpom, who has featured in Arsenal’s Champions League squads, is also one to watch.
Blackburn’s under 21s, meanwhile, have had a steady start to the season, losing their first game against West Brom but coming from behind to beat Reading, with first goals at under 21s level from Bradley Bauress and Devarn Green.
Kick-off is at 7pm and tickets are £4, £2 concessions, with Blackburn season ticket holders going free.
