DESPITE enjoying an unbeaten three games at Walsall at the weekend, Tyldesley finished third from bottom and were relegated to British Water Polo’s Division Two Championship.
Tyldesley beat Polytechnic, London, and table-toppers Mid-Sussex Marlins while also recording a draw with Liverpool.
Grace Morley scored seven goals as Tyldesley saw off Polytechnic in their first fixture on Saturday, while Grace Rowland added a hat-trick and Megan Price grabbed two in a 13-8 win.
The second Saturday fixture saw the Ladies share 16 goals with Liverpool, despite a Price goal one minute from time putting them 8-7 up the opposition netted one of two late penalties to level.
On the Sunday Tyldesley enjoyed some of their best water polo of the season against the league leaders, romping to a 12-4 victory.
Jo Costello scored five, Morley three, Rowland three and Jo Ibbotson one while Hayley Price produced some fantastic saves in goal, including a penalty.
