CHILDREN from Sacred Heart proved to be pearler ‘kurlers’ in a primary school festival.
They fended off competition from eight other schools to successfully defend the Atherton and Tyldesley Sports Association kurling festival silverware at St Michael's School in Atherton.
After progressing from the group stage, the Sacred Heart pupils edged out counterparts from St. George’s Central in a tense final match.
St Philip's, St Michael's, Holy Family, Chowbent, Parklee, Atherton St George's and St Richard's also took part in the key-stage one event.
Sports leaders from St Michael's acted as umpires and scorers for matches.
