AFTER a season of consolidation, Leigh East are looking to push for promotion in 2014.

Newly-appointed head coach Dave Radley says progresshas been made after a couple of challenging years.

“We have had a great pre-season and the feelgood factor is certainly back at the club,” he said.

“We have built a strong squad and are well equipped to push for promotion this year.”

East are committed to engaging members and supporters in their quest.

An open-age friendly against Shevington Sharks will take place at Leigh East’s ground on Saturday at 3pm.

Following the friendly, the 2014 ‘launch night’ will take place in the Ledgard Avenue clubhouse.

Entertainment and food will be provided and children are welcome.

Assistant coach Lee Rowley said: “We would like to invite all players, juniors, families, sponsors and supporters to the free evening which will be a chance to promote the positivity surrounding the new season and for past and new members to come together and be a part of it.

“It will be an opportunity to meet the new coaching team and playing staff and to sign up to the past players’ association.”

A ‘players sponsor’ auction will also take place.

For anyone interested in sponsorship opportunities, from programme to match-day sponsorship, information will be available on the night or interested parties can send an e-mail to information@leigheast.org.uk or call 01942 510208.
