COLLS’ first ever meeting with league newcomers 1874 Northwich ended in defeat on Saturday.

A bumper crowd saw an entertaining game of football between the sides with the winning goal coming on 57 minutes when the league's leading scorer Michael Brandon found space in the Colls’ box to head home.

Minutes before Colls' Paul Atherton had missed a gilt-edged chance to open the scoring.

The Alder House club never gave up and Charlie Stoker hit a post from a tight angle in injury time.

The win dents Colls’ promotion hopes, victories are the order of the day in the remaining nine fixtures.
