A DEPLETED Leigh East side came up against a well-organised St Judes outfit and ended up on the end of a tough score line but never gave up. Tries for East came from Ryan Gray, two with Josh Woods kicking 1 goal.

THE under 14s travelled to Blackbrook for a NWC group game and came off second best against an organised and hungry opposition, the try for East coming from Ryan Horne.

EAST under 12s played host to St Judes and faced an uphill struggle from the start with players starting out of position due to availability.

IN a hard-fought game Leigh East took the spoils. For the second week in a row barnstorming runs and excellent defence saw Liam Ogden take the man-of-the-match supported well by Callum Thorpe.

Tries came from Leon Molyneaux, Adam Jones and Ryan Barnes with Taylor Pemberton and Molyneaux adding a conversion each.

LEIGH East went down in a spirited fashion after a well played second half that did not prove enough to beat a good Eccles side.

THE under eights had a good start to the 2014 season with a convincing victory away from home.

The East forwards ran hard with ball in hand with some good passing, but the defence was the talking point with hard but fair tackles going in throughout the game.
