TYLDESLEY Swimming Club are the early leaders in the Central Lancs Senior Swimming League.
Tyldesley played Stalybridge at the Pelican Centre and convincingly won the game Tyldesley 37½ Stalybridge 8½.
This is the first time in a number of years that Tyldesley have beaten Stalybridge by such a margin.
A number of swimmers have changed aged groups this year which has given the opportunity for a number of swimmers to compete for the first time.
On a separate occasion, three teams visited the Pelican Centre, Tyldesley and the team won all three matches: Tyldesley 31 Chadderton 15, Tyldesley 34½ Bury & Elton 10½, Tyldesley 37 Rochdale 7½.
The girls’ team have been dominant this season in all age groups and have not lost a race yet.
Alan Stafford, after 18 years, recently handed over the duties of team manager to Francis Peers and Michelle Greensmith.
Francis Peers swam for GB at the World Catholic Games and with Michelle have a vast amount of experience in the swimming world.
