TYLDESLEY'S men’s water polo team made an impressive start to their water polo season.

Tyldesley have won three out of four matches in the Bolton and District Men's Water Polo League.

Tyldesley, prior to last night's game, had beaten Bury home and away 20-11 and 12-7 but had lost a tight game away to Kendal by 11 goals to seven.

The game against Radcliffe saw ex-Tyldesley players Steve Davidson and Phil Stout return to the Pelican Centre playing for Radcliffe.

The game was always going to be an exciting match with the return of the Tyldesley players.

After the first quarter the teams were level four goals apiece.

Goals by Jonathan Stafford, two, Adam Toone and Rob Bond.

At half time Tyldesley had taken the lead by seven goals to five with another goal from Jonathan Stafford, Tyler Turner and Lucas McNulty scoring his first goal of the season.

The third quarter was really tight and finished with Tyldesley leading by 10 goals to nine.

Goals by Peter Harrison, Jonathan Stafford and Adam Toone kept Tyldesley just in front.

At the start of the last quarter Lucas McNulty received his third personal foul and was excluded from the rest of the match.

Tyldesley scored three more goals from Tyler Turner, John Fletcher and Jonathan Stafford to win the game 13 goals to 11.

Great game, in a cracking atmosphere, eight of the 11 Radcliffe goals were scored by the returning Tyldesley players to add to the excitement.
