LEIGH cricketer Callum Flynn is enjoying donning the national jersey again after returning to Dubai with England.
Top-order batsman Flynn is part of a 15-strong England Physical Disability squad who, after a six-match ODI, begin a T20 series against Pakistan on Thursday.
“It’s always been my dream and there is a real sense of pride to play for England,” he said.
“I had bone cancer, which is why I’ve got the knee replacement. My friends and family have always been there for support, throughout chemotherapy and when I got back into cricket so I really appreciate that.”
The 19-year-old was also part of England’s maiden tour to Dubai two years ago.
“I’ve improved massively since the last tour. I’ve had my disability pretty much all my life. I’ve got a metal knee replacement, so in the last few years I’ve got fitter and more used to that as well.”
