THERE was another fantastic sell-out Team Leigh Boxing Show on Saturday evening with great performances throughout.

Topping the bill was a NW region champion light welterweight belt win for Adam Ridge, who is already the lightweight champion, over Luke Evans of Irlam, also taking the Collins & Darwell senior boxer of the night award.

There was a NW belt win for Jason Weir against Callum Rodriguez of Skerton, Jason also winning the Simpson Head Pearson junior boxer of the night award.

Fourteen-year-old Lewis Ryder beat Dan O'Connor of Skerton to take the 52kg NW region champion belt and the Team Leigh boxer of the night award, while there was a fourth belt win for Leigh when Josh Taylor, 14, outpointed Elliott Crampton of Chorlton.

A first round knockout win for Serwan Rassae over Terry McLoughlin of Glasgow saw him take the Secretaries’ Shield award while 11-year-old schoolboy national finalist Paddy Hewitt kept busy with a first round tko win over Cain Smith of Congleton.

A unanimous points’ victory for middleweight Jordan Nicklin over Carl Howe of Wigton saw him also receive the Tommy Sargeant boxer of the night award, while light heavyweight Matty Walsh extended his unbeaten record outpointing Jack Pattinson also of Wigton.

There were also skills bouts for youngsters Will Hewitt and Kyle Parr against John Kelly (Skerton) and Niall McIntosh (Collyhurst), while Jimboy Price, Charlie Pimblett, Lee Collier, Phil Hervey, Tony Boardman and Callum Follows gave their all in points’ defeats.
