Tyldesley 10 Lancaster 13

TYLDESLEY'S senior men's water polo team welcomed one of the powerhouses of British water polo Lancaster to the Pelican Centre in the Bolton and District water polo league.

Tyldesley narrowly lost the game but gave Lancaster a great game.

In the first quarter Tyldesley started strongly and were three goals to nil up half way through the quarter.

Lancaster rallied to end the quarter leading by four goals to three.

In the second quarter great defence by both teams saw a goalless quarter so at half time the score remained four to three in favour of Lancaster.

In the third quarter both teams found the net scoring five goals apiece finishing the quarter with Lancaster leading nine goals to five.

In the last quarter Jonthan Stafford scored to equalise the game at nine goals each.

With five minutes left a crucial decision saw Lee Toone receive his third personal foul and could take no further part in the game.

The loss of one of Tyldesley's experienced players gave Lancaster the incentive to go on to win the game by 13 goals to 10.
