TYLDESLEY cycle speedway rider Adam Watson helped his Sheffield Stars Club secure a win in the Northern Junior Knockout Cup at the weekend.

Watson, aged 14, scored 15 points, the highest scorer from the four teams that competed for the title.

The match was a close contest between Sheffield and Bury, before Sheffield stepped up a gear producing some great wins to take the title, with Edinburgh and Hull battling for third position.

This great performance follows an under 16s win at Bury two weeks ago in the second round of the British Youth and Junior League, together with his 2014 Elite League debut for Sheffield against Newport.

Watson will travel to Hethersett in Norwich next week, to compete in the under 19s British Individual Championship and as the youngest rider to enter, this will be a big challenge for the local teenager.
