CHILDREN enjoyed a successful ATSA Archery taster session take place at St George's Central School.

Students from several local schools and some from further afield took part in the event led by members of Eccles Archery club.

Eccles club member Jon Jones demonstrated a longbow, an American flat bow, a compound bow and an Olympic Recurve bow.

The attendees then moved on to listen to a safety briefing from Eccles Archery coach Terry Burnett.

Using the information Terry had provided, they were then given the opportunity to have a go at firing which was overseen by British number one ladies longbow archer Jude Law.
