ASTLEY and Tyldesley visited Bury in the Northern League on Sunday.

Bury entered the interval with a commanding 54-36 lead, before A&T captain Joe Allen was excluded in heat 12 and match banned by the referee for dissent. Bury went on to win 108-6.

A&T took control of the Division Two match and held a 10-point lead at the interval. They eased off in the closing stages but enjoyed a 79-70 victory.

Bury fielded 10 riders against A&T's six in Division Three.

Max Evans lost only to Adam Turnbull in heat 14. Credit to seven-year-old John White, who took a heavy fall first time out but bravely completed the match.

The third North Regional Round of the British Youth Junior League at Stockport on Saturday saw three A&T riders win Grand Prix A Finals.

John White in the under 8s, Max Evans in the under 12s and Reece Pollitt in the under 16s.

Emily Burgess finished second and Ben Dickinson third in the under 10s Grand Prix A Final. Joe Quarmby won the under 10s B Final and Matt Snell taking the under 12s.

Ciaran Collins came fourth in the under 14s A Final, while Alex Semtyshin finished second in the Girls’ A Final.

In the opening round of the A&T Go-Ride Grand Prix series, Max Quarmby scored 15 points to take the win, finishing ahead of Lucy Grantham on 14.

Three riders tied on 13 points and Charlie Dickinson won the run-off to take third place ahead of Jamie and Luke Hill.
