“I would like to thank ACS for allowing us to use their facilities to host this event,” said Mark Grogan, headteacher at St George’s Central and lead teacher for Atherton and Tyldesley Sports Association.

“Thanks also to everyone involved with Leigh Centurions Community Foundation, especially Leigh Centurions player Stuart Littler, who was present to oversee the matches and present the awards at the end.

“Thanks to the apprentices from the Foundation who refereed the matches and acted as time keepers.

“A mention also to the many supporters who came to event to help create a fantastic atmosphere.”

Sacred Heart secured maximum points in the group stages, going on to beat the other group winner St Phillips in the final.
