Tyldesley 16 Salford 11
TYLDESLEY extended their unbeaten run to four matches at the expense of visitors Salford at the Pelican Centre.
Salford took the lead after 24 second and this served as a wake-up call for captain and goalkeeper Aaron Atherton, who went on to make some impressive saves.
At the end of the quarter Tyldesley had taken the lead 4-2, thanks to two goals by veteran Dennis Price, Lee Toone, and Lucas McNulty.
In the second quarter the game was very competitive with a number of players receiving personal fouls, but goals from Peter Harrison, Dennis Price and Rob Bond saw Tyldesley with a 7-3 lead at the break.
Jonathan Stafford, three, Price, Bond and Toone added to their advantage in the third quarter, meaning player-coach Stafford was able to rotate his squad.
In the final quarter, Price and John Fletcher were both excluded from the game for their third personal foul, but scores for Lucas, McNulty, two, and John Fletcher sealed the win.
