Edwards eyeing Commonwealth gold

A FORMER Goldborne High School student will compete in the Commonwealth Games this summer after being named in the England Wrestling squad.

Sophie Edwards is eyeing the gold medal in Glasgow having already become British judo champion at the age of 16, British junior champion at 17 and both British and France international senior champion at 18.

Edwards is the first person to have gained scholarships in both wrestling and judo at the Y Club Manchester.
