IT has been another great week of results for the Astley and Tyldesley club's squad of talented local young riders.

The club has enhanced its standing as one of the top junior teams in the country, with John White the current top ranked under eights in the UK.

A&T took to the East Park track in Wolverhampton on Saturday and the team finished in sixth place in the third National Round of the British Youth and Junior League series.

First up was the under eights match and John White turned in another tremendous showing, taking third place in the Grand Prix A Final, which saw him extend his lead at the top of the British under eights Grand Prix series with just one round to go.

Max Evans reached another Grand Prix A Final in the under 12s category, where he finished in fourth place.

Reece Pollitt raced unbeaten in the under 16s qualifying heats and stormed to victory in the Grand Prix A Final to cap a great day for the Astley & Tyldesley club.

British Youth & Junior League Final round three result: Kesgrave 180, Poole 158, Sheffield 110, Wednesfield 89, Exeter 82, Astley & Tyldesley 79, Ipswich 55, Leicester 45.

ASTLEY & Tyldesley's Max Evans and Matthew Snell turned in some great displays of riding to take first and third places respectively in the Manchester League under 13s Individual Final at Stockport on Wednesday.

Max tied for first place on 19 points with Stockport's James Barry, so a run-off was held to decide the winner. Max drew the favourable inside start and held on to take the win and the title.

Matthew Snell finished just one point behind, on 18 points, to take the third-place award.

This result means that A&T have made it a hat-trick of Manchester League junior champions – Joe Quarmby, under 10s, Max Evans, under 13s, Reece Pollitt, under 16s, as well as A&T winning the Division Two junior team league.
