LEIGH Genesis Energy under 12s named Matty Wilcock as the supporters’ player of the month for September.
The young rising star topped a poll after plenty of votes came flooding in for him.
Team manager Dean Pickup said "Matty has really worked hard in pre-season and concentrated on his individual skills and it is really paying off as he has been outstanding.
“His all-round attitude is first class and he is playing extremely well. He works hard for the team and has scored some great goals to help our cause.
“I am very happy for him. As a reward Matty will captain the team throughout the month of October."
The young Leigh lads are currently sitting second in the Bolton and Bury league after a great start to the season which has seen them win three out of the first four games.
