ASTLEY and Tyldesley wrapped up their Northern League season by clinching the Division Three title at Sheffield's expense on Sunday.
Sheffield led the division by two match points beforehand, but A&T had a better race points difference and made the better start, opening up a 32-28 lead after six races.
Sheffield had edged into a two-point lead at the halfway stage, but the next round of six races saw A&T reply to take a three-point advantage into the final races.
The home side finished strongly and ran out 124-114 winners to retain the title they won last year, with Sheffield again finishing runners-up.
For Team Green, Max Evans raced to a maximum score, with Matt Snell also unbeaten by an opponent, but it was the efforts of all14 members which secured the under 13 riders.
A&T were hammered 65-115 by Sheffield in the Division One match. Reece Pollitt and Luke Jamson the only home riders to win a race to seal A&t seventh place, above bottom club Heckmondwike.
The Team Green riders were also well beaten in Division Two match, as Sheffield maintained their title challenge with 63-82 success.
Reece Pollitt raced unbeaten, with Max Evans, Gareth Paine and Ciaran Collins also recording wins for a fourth-placed finish in the division.
