INETERNATIONAL Sportswear Company Kukri has today announced a deal to become the official kit supplier to Leigh Centurions.

The deal will run from now until at least the end of the 2016 Rugby League season with an option for a further year at the Club’s discretion.

Kukri will supply all playing kit, training wear and leisurewear for the 2014 Kingstone Press Championship League Leaders and Play-Off Winners, as well as a range of retail merchandise for the Leigh Centurions Retail Unit.

Kukri North West Sales Manager, James Oakes said: “It’s really exciting for us to partner up with Leigh Centurions, a club with a great history and a really bright future.

"As a North-West based company, it’s fantastic that we’re able to supply kit to such a local team. We’re really excited about this partnership, and look forward to supporting the Centurions over the coming seasons.”

Leigh Centurions Head of Rugby, Derek Beaumont said: “I am delighted we are able to re-establish a partnership with Kukri. It's no secret I am a believer in fate and we partnered Kukri the last time we were successful in gaining entry into Super League so I am hoping they can bring us similarly good fortunes.

“Allan Rowley and Steve Openshaw worked hard on this, putting the partnership out to tender and Kukri recognised the vision that we have for the club, showing their beliefs by way of the terms of supply they offered. They supply an excellent product which is of the highest quality and they were really efficient to work with in terms of agreeing the designs.

“As a Board we unanimously voted for the two designs to be revealed shortly which was fully supported by the coaching staff. Kukri supplies national teams across a wide range of sports so we feel honoured that they have chosen Leigh Centurions to break back into Rugby League.”

Kukri will provide a new Home and Away Playing Jersey for the Leigh Centurions team, which will be Kukri’s Elite Rugby Jersey. This same type of jersey is worn by Ulster Rugby (Alternative), and was worn by Team England at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The new Leigh Centurions Home and Away playing kits will be revealed for the first time at a launch event at Leigh Sports Village on Thursday 27 November. Replica jerseys and merchandise will be available to buy at the event for the first time, with the range available at the Leigh Centurions Retail Unit the next day (Friday 28 November).
