ASTLEY & Tyldesley are raring to go for the opening Northern League match of the 2015 cycle speedway season.

The Team Green riders have been busy in their on-track pre-season training, midweek under the Gin Pit floodlights and on Sunday afternoons.

A&T will travel to Sheffield's Cookson Park circuit on Sunday.

Three matches will be contested, starting with the Division One match at 2pm.

A much strengthened A&T side will be looking to make a good start to the new campaign.

The match will be followed by the Division Two match, between the two clubs' second teams.

The day's racing will be concluded with a Division Three match, exclusively for under-13s riders.

This will be a key match in this division, as Sheffield have been runners-up to champions A&T for the past two seasons.

A&T will continue with their popular weekly club sessions every Tuesday evening.

The u13s start at 6.30pm, followed by seniors at 7.45pm.

The sessions are open to all existing club members and newcomers, at a cost of £3.50 per session, which includes bike and helmet hire.

The sessions take place at the floodlit cycle speedway track at the Astley & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare Club, Meanley Road, Gin Pit.
