ASTLEY and Tyldesley remain in pole position to claim a third straight Division Two title following third successive win in the Manchester League Grand Prix series with three rounds remaining.

They preserved their 100 per cent record, clinching overall victory in the third round of the competition at Stockport.

Joe Quarmby raced to a 16-point maximum score in the under-10s match, holding off a strong challenge to beat his team-mate John White in heat 11.

In the u13s match, A&T's Max Evans only dropped points to Stockport's Michael Preston.

The rest of A&T's squad scored strongly to ensure another convincing win.

The Division One team was unable to replicate the success of the club's juniors as they took third place, finishing behind hosts Stockport and Bury.

A&T will host the fourth and final round of the regional section of the British Youth and Junior League series on Saturday, with the racing due to start from 1pm.

The Gin Pit will then stage the fourth round of the Manchester League Grand Prix series on Wednesday.

The first race is due to start at 7 pm.
