BASEMENT club Oldham St Annes took the lead at Leigh East but then had no answer to their attacking rugby as the Ledgard Avenue side ran in eight tries in a 46-12 victory.

The win sealed third spot for East in NCL Division Two but with two games remaining they could yet steal second place from Featherstone Lions, who are four points better off having played a game more.

Josh Adudwumma scored two tries for East while Lee Rowley, Curtis Littlewood, Adam Holland, Martin Roden, Danny Grainey and Craig Wingfield added one-apiece and Holland converted seven of the eight tries.

East's promotion run-in continues on Saturday when they travel to eighth-placed Askam.
