LEIGH Rugby Union Club surrendered an early advantage to concede six unanswered tries in a 41-3 defeat at home to Altrincham Kersal.
Rob Drake put the home side in front with a well-struck penalty, but it was all downhill from there.
They went into the break 22-3 down and minus influential scrum half David Wood, who was forced off with a bad cut above his eye.
Leigh held their opponents for 25 minutes of the second period after some wise words in the dressing room at half time.
But after playing with only 14 men for 10 minutes, their tiring forwards were undone by a flowing move from the Altrincham backs and they went on to concede a further two tries in the closing stages.
Ryan McKinstry was the pick of the Leigh side, who are 11th in the North One West table, still searching for their first win after five matches.
