AN under-strength Tyldesley side were soundly beaten 62-6 at home to Bolton in the North Lancs/Cumbria Division on Saturday.

The visitors dominated the game from start to finish, with the majority of their scores coming out wide as the hosts' inexperience gifted them time and room.

The first 10 minutes looked bright as Bongs moved towards the visitors' line and opened the scoring through Garry Molyneaux's kicked penalty on six minutes.

It took until the 14th-minute for Bolton to catch Tyldesley napping and register their first score.

The visitors took a quick tap in their 22, before going the length of the field for a converted try.

Two minutes later they extended their lead through a penalty after Dean Brown was shown a yellow card for a high tackle

Another Molyneaux penalty brought Tyldesley back to within four points but that was as close as they got for the rest of the afternoon.

Bolton ran in a further three tries, two converted, to give them a 29-6 lead at half time.

After conceding another two converted tries within six minutes of the restart, Tyldesley battled to stem the flow for a while, but it came at a price.

Three players had to be withdrawn through injury from, forcing them to complete the final 15 minutes with only 14 players, which went to 13 after Paul Martin received a yellow with 10 minutes remaining.

And Bolton took advantage of their numerical advantage to run in another three tries, two converted.

Tyldesley dropped two places to seventh following the defeat, while Bolton strengthened their position in fourth.
