TYLDESLEY are having a very difficult time at present. Dwindling numbers have seen the third team recently fold, but further unavailability’s meant Bongs could only field fifteen players, many of which played out of position, with second teamers filling in the gaps.

A brave and spirited defensive effort from all, including debutant Declan O’Connor, who brilliantly, saved a certain try, had them protect the line for fifteen minutes, despite Bolton coming at them in numbers and at pace, but the inevitable finally happened, with the hosts crossing for four converted tries in nine minutes.

Things didn’t get any better as the visitors went down to 14, after Dave Crowe had to be withdrawn due to an head injury, in the 25th minute, but despite a continued never say die attitude, Tyldesley found themselves 49 points down by half time.

The second period was yet again one-way traffic but it took the hosts 16 minutes before they got the score board ticking again, due to yet another courageous defensive display by Tyldesley.

Although running on empty by now, Bongs still battled, but just couldn’t contain Bolton, whose pace and support, enabled them to record points at regular intervals. The last ten had Tyldesley lose Ben Kendrick, to a yellow card, forcing them to play out the game with just with 13 players , giving Bolton even more space too attack, which they did.
