MEMBERS of Tyldesley Swimming Club have been busy of late, racking up the miles and medals at several competitions around the country.

Twins Imogen and Madeleine Bailey were particularly successful, with Madeleine picking up a silver medal in the 100m breaststroke and bronze in the 50m breaststroke at an open competition in Sunderland before scooping a personal best time in the 50m freestyle at the Lancashire County WPSA Age Groups Championships.

At the same tournament, Imogen competed in nine events, achieving a personal best in seven of them, while teammate Jodie Gittins managed to bring home a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle.

The club then had ten swimmers competing in the Greater Manchester Age Groups, with Rachel Hornby scoring two bronze medals in the 12-year-olds’ 100m and 200m butterfly events.

Madeleine Bailey also placed in two of her four events, while ten-year-old Madason Lawley won a bronze medal in the 50m butterfly as well as personal best times in the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke and 50m breaststroke.

Other swimmers to record personal best times at the meet were Mai Deef, Minnah Deef, William Hornby, Erin Leacy, Daisy Poole, Isobelle Robb and Elijah Wright.
