Silloth 59 Tyldesley 19

TYLDESLEY remain deep in relegation trouble after their depleted side was well beaten by fellow strugglers Silloth.

The visitors battled gamely having travelled with just 15 players, but only had themselves to blame in the first half as Silloth exploited large gaps in the defence to score three converted tries.

Scott Brown got Tyldesley on the board with a converted try, but they switched off from the restart and were hit with two quickfire scores as the hosts remained fully in control.

The break gave the visitors the chance to regroup and they started superbly, with Brown crossing for a second try.

A solid drive led to Craig Pulman touching down to give Tyldesley momentum, but the pitfalls of having no substitutes began to show as Silloth cantered away in the final 20 minutes.

Tyldesley are just three points clear of relegation ahead of Saturday’s crucial game with Whitehaven.
