THERE was certainly no rest for the wicked as Michael Clegg's team had another three-game week.

A young enterprising Nelson side visited Alder House and took a first half lead. A long punt forward was headed away but it landed directly onto Waqas Azam's boot and he sent a stunning volley past Kyle Haslam. Colls conceded another just after the hour mark.

A quickly taken freekick backfired and the visitors attacked with vigour and with an at lest two man overlap scored with ease.

Mark Ayres pulled a goal back with a trademark header from a corner before Nelson re asserted their two goal advantage.

Colls eventually found some form, Ayres stroked home a penalty after Brad Cooke was upended and then Jordan Cover equalised with a scrappy finish from yards out.

Lewis Coleman then missed a glorious chance to cap an unbelievable comeback but he headed wide with the goal at his mercy to leave the final score 3-3.

A trip to Alsager Town on a wet and windy Thursday evening was not to the players liking and they trailed at half time 3-0. To Compound matters Callum Jones was dismissed along with a Town player for a skirmish. After being read the riot act the team improved but struggled to break down a resolute defence.

However Jordan Cover headed in in 85 minutes and Ayres swept in another in injury time to reduce the arrears but time ran out in the pursuit for parity Colls losing 3-2.

The final home game of the season was against in form Congleton Town. James Kirby struck on the half hour mark to put Colls ahead.

He enjoyed that goal being Congleton born and bred. Town equalised though with an howitzer of a goal from right back Brian Mathews. Both teams had chances to win the game but Goal machine Centre Half Ayres won it for Colls in injury time when he tapped in from six yards out after the keeper had parried a Gareth Peet free kick. A win that guaranteed Colls an historic 3rd place in the NWCFL Premier Division.
