Burtonwood 30-18 Leigh East U15s.

A big effort from a busted u15s at Burtonwood 2 tries from the hugely impressive Josh Carrick and scores from Archie Fleming and Lewis Oneill wasn't enough to prevent Burtonwood running out eventual winners 30 points to 18.

A week off has come at the right time as the injuries start to mount after a period of tough games.

Ince Rose Bridge 10-32 Leigh East U14s.

East remained at the top of the Table after a convincing win on Thursday evening, East were on the ball from the off when James Duffy went over in the corner, East extended their lead instantly when Chad Wrigley went over to make the scoreline 0-8 after 10 minutes. Shayne Foster was next over the white wash for East .

And a conversion from Jack Holland made the scoreline 14-0 but their was still time for a try from each team, the first from Luke Rigby and another conversion from Holland before Ince got a try of their own right on Half Time to make the score 4-20 at the break. East started off the second half just like the first, in complete control and Cobyn Fletcher went over and Holland Converted before Callum Hughes topped off a good performance by going over and with Hollands conversion made the score 4-32 but Ince still had time to score a consolation and a conversion to finish the game at 10-32.

Hindley 36-6 Leigh East U11s.

The Leigh East team were up against it again going into this fixture, an under-strength side ravaged by injuries and illness going in at halftime 24-0 down.

The game wasn't quite as un-even as the score suggested. New-comer Ewan Smith going close after a clever chip from scrum-half Tommy Ridyard almost put him over in the right-hand corner. Tough tackling and strong running from the likes of Adam Ismaiel, Flynn Horne, Bailey Pemberton and Nathan Southern ensured that Hindley didn't have all their own way. Harry Higham epitomised the team spirit.

Unbelievably the injury jinx struck yet again with Nathan carried from the field just before halftime after a tackle dealt him a painful blow to the leg.

At 24-0 down with another player short the East lads again dusted themselves down and just got on with the job in hand.

Harry Higham again showing his eye for an opportunity close to the line, going over for a self converted try.

As the second half progressed East looked much more dangerous as they 'played what they saw' in front of them rather than going through the motions of 'set plays' . Tommy Ridyard's jinking run towards the right-hand touchline ending in a slipped pass to Cory Higgins - only to be denied a try by some fierce cover tackling.

The final score of 36-6 only tells part of the story. An East team starting the match one player short and losing another before half time - up against a well drilled team with an abundance of substitutes.

By consensus MOTM went to the entire team for showing grit, composure and skill in the face of adversity.

A very determined and proud performance.

Leigh East U7s Lions 18-4 Ashton Bears.

Lions where outstanding winning 18-4 vs Ashton Bears. Defence was excellent throughout against a team with some quick players, they spread out wide and moved in quick in a line which East have been working on in training. There was some great tries scored aswell from off loads in the tackle and some great support play.
