ASTLEY & Tyldesley had four riders in action at the British Individual Championships on Saturday.

The South West tracks were badly hit by torrential rain and thunderstorms, which made conditions challenging.

All four riders put in great performances, but just missed out on rostrum places.

In the u10 Boys Final at Horspath, Oxford, John White won his first three races, but suffered falls in his last two, whilst challenging for the lead on both occasions.

His 14 points total saw him finish in 6th place.

Next up was the u13 Girls final.

Emily Burgess turned in a consistent performance, to get a 15 points score and a 5th place finish.

Matt Snell had a bad draw in the u13 Boys Final, but he put in a great effort to score 16 points and take 4th place.

The O40s Final at Swindon had to be delayed as a flooded track was cleared of water.

When racing resumed, Paul Graham registered an impressive 15 points score, to finish in 5th place.

On Sunday, 4 September, Astley & Tyldesley take on Sheffield in a Northern League fixture at Gin Pit, 2 pm start.
