AFTER a very difficult 2015-16 season both on and off the field, Tyldesley are hoping to rebuild.

The new coaching team, Alan Coleman and Stuart Pugsley have worked hard with the players, who have responded well during the close season, and it’s hoped both past and new players can be attracted for the coming season and beyond.

Although early days, Bongs, couldn’t of wished for a better start to the new season.

A good, solid team performance, had them progress into the quarter finals of the Lancashire plate, after dominating for long spells.

Debutants Neil Minshall and former colt Henry Williams both settled in well, has did the rest of the team, despite some early season rustiness and a few things that will be worked on and improved as the season progresses.

Slick handling assisted by some great backing up had Tyldesley record six first half tries. Scott Brown got the score board ticking after six minutes.

Tyldesley recorded another four tries via, Adam Fetherston, Mark Dickinson, Brown’s second and Ashley Worsfold in a blistering thirteen minute spell.

Gaz Molyneaux finished off more enterprising team play, touching down with just minutes of the half remaining. Dickinson converted four. Half time 38-0

Bongs started the second period just as they finished the first, attacking from all areas of the park.

Tries from Matthew Crampton, Zak Sargent and a second for Dickinson, one converted by Molyneaux, inside 20 minutes had the game truly put to bed.

Tarleton, who never threw the towel in, crossed for a converted try, just after the hour.

Man of the match was Craig Pulman.

Next week Tyldesley start their league campaign at home to Eagle, 3pm.
