ASTLEY & Tyldesley took in a full weekend of racing in Scotland, in Northern League fixtures.

A&T raced to a convincing 90-33 victory at Glasgow on Saturday, in a Division 2 match.

Ciaran Collins and Max Evans both raced unbeaten, with Matt Snell and Mark Grantham losing only once each to a home rider.

A&T scorers: Max Evans 20, Ciaran Collins 18 (plus 2 bonus), Matt Snell 17 (1), Mark Grantham 17 (1), Nathan Holt 10, Aiden Green 8 (1).

Glasgow didn't field any riders for the Division 3 match, so A&T took a 16-0 whitewash win.

A&T travelled across to Edinburgh for Sunday's matches.

In the Division 1 match, the first two heats were shared, before Edinburgh took the lead with a 6-4 heat win.

League leaders Edinburgh were never headed after that and ran out 85-62 winners.

Nevertheless, a young A&T side battled hard and can be proud of their efforts against a strong team,

with Reece Pollitt and Luke Jamson both winning races.

A&T kept up their title challenge by winning the Division 2 match, 82-68. Ciaran Collins and Max Evans again both raced unbeaten, with Matt Snell again losing only once to a home rider.

Edinburgh 68 Astley & Tyldesley 82.

A&T scorers: Max Evans 19 (1, Ciaran Collins 18 (2), Matt Snell 18, Emily Burgess 11, Mark Grantham 11, Lucy Grantham 5.

Defending champions A&T pulled off a terrific performance to take a narrow 62-58 victory, in the Division 3 match.

The five A&T riders worked overtime to beat a seven rider Edinburgh team. Edinburgh started the weekend as league leaders, but A&T's two wins saw them jump from third to first place in the league table.
