TYLDESLEY dedicated this win to club legend, Terry Casey, who sadly passed away, on Friday evening.

Although not perfect, this was a much improved performance on the whole, against a side who arrived with a perfect record to date and where more than capable of taking the spoils.

It took, Bongs, twelve minutes before they managed to apply any pressure on the opposition twenty two, but came away with a converted penalty, via Paul Martins boot.

Both sides had their fair share of possession, creating decent half chances, but a mixer of mistakes and good defending protected both lines.

Tyldesley added a second try, twenty six minutes in, after receiving a penalty, but elected to put on a move, and run the ball, which had, Craig Pulman, go through a hole created, Martin added the conversion.

Hoylake hit back, on the stroke of half time, through a penalty try. 10-7

Another good forward surge, resulted in a third try, three minutes into the second half, Kris Kirkpatrick then Zak Sargent , went close, before Ash Worsfold, brilliantly, gathered the ball then dove over in one movement, Martin converted.

Hoylake pulled Tyldesley back, to just four, after a good spell, had them convert two penalties.

As the game approached the hour mark, Tyldesley, retained the ball, brilliantly via some calm team play.

Superb hands pick and drives, pushed a determined Hoylake back, with a third try, a just reward, has, Shaun Pulman, touched down in the corner.

Tyldesley had a few more nervy moments, as Hoylake continued to fight, which put the home defence under pressure, but thankfully, Bongs held out.

With just twelve minutes remaining, a valuable, fourth, bonus point try, was recorded after Rob Cox, finished off, another good piece of play, from a tap penalty.

Although the game had all, but gone for Hoylake, they continued to show plenty of character, and would of crossed, gaining a losing bonus, had it not been for a fantastic, try saving tackle, from Martin.

MOM Matt Crampton.
