THIS was definitely a game of two halves, with what appeared to be a totally different Tyldesley side taking to the field in the second half.

Bongs carried their performance from last week, in to the first period, a high penalty count against and being unable to finish off some decent rugby, had them 8-12 down at the break.

Tyldesley started well, scoring an unconverted try through, prop forward, Conor Norton, in the eighth minute, Marple hit back within minutes with a five pointer.

A second try, just didn’t materialise, for Bongs, mainly due to poor concentration and rushed phases, although a Paul Martin penalty did extended the hosts lead to three, midway through the half.

Marple continued too trouble Bongs and got their reward, with a converted try, giving them the upper hand as the half came to a close.

A stunning start to the second period had Tyldesley cross for three excellent converted tries within five minutes.

Brilliant backing up and vision, assisted Ashley Worsfold, twice, and Jack Kirkpatrick, too touch down. Giving them a 29-12 lead over a shell shocked Marple.

To their credit, Marple dusted themselves down and narrowed the gap after recording their third try, after taking the ball from a Tyldesley lineout throw.

Tyldesley soon reasserted themselves, Mark Dickinson, touched down under the posts, after collecting, a superb inside pass from Worsfold Harry Hutton touched down for the last two Tyldesley tries; his first was a brilliant individual try, after picking up from the back of a ruck, twenty five meters out, before ghosting through. Paul Martin converted all six second half tries.

A stubborn Marple, never stopped, and recorded a deserved bonus fourth try, in-between the hosts last two scores.

MOM Zack Sargent.

Tyldesley’s next game is at Warrington outfit, Moore, in two weeks, October 22.
